On May 9th 2023, Wisk Aero, a U.S. startup funded by U.S. aircraft giant Boeing, announced that it has formed a partnership with Japan Airlines (JAL). Whisk is developing an electrically powered vertical takeoff and landing aircraft called "eVTOL," and the two companies will work together to operate an automated "flying cab" in Japan. The company plans to commercialize the service in the U.S. within a few years, and then gradually introduce the service in about 20 cities around the world, including Tokyo.The planned "flying cab" will seat several passengers and will not require a long runway. …
