On March 31, the Japan Ministry of Defense (JMOD) unveiled detailed zoning plans for its proposed “multi-functional composite defense base” on the former Nippon Steel site in Kure District, Hiroshima Prefecture. The plan, presented during a consultative meeting with Nippon Steel Corporation, Kure City, and Hiroshima Prefectural Government officials, includes designated zones for private enterprise participation and drone manufacturing.
